Dazed indeed!

Did you hear that?  This entire week, it has sounded as if the entire planet was letting out a huge groan.  The San Andreas fault was not shifting.  BrittneySpears didn’t show he naughty bits to the world again.  No, school started.  Kids everywhere seemed to deflate a bit.  Of course, there must be balance in the universe, and indeed there was.   As kids were groaning, parents let out a cheer.  The same thing played out in our house…

I don’t think they were as amused as we were.  Really, we are all a little excited and a little sad for school to start again…

Alas, we are back in school and that means we get down to business now. Of course, there must be balance in the universe…

  1. It’s the most wonderful day of the year…..:) I can’t wait to hear about all their adventures.

  2. Lily started a few weeks ago. She was excited at first but that has worn off now. Before going to bed she will tell me that she should stay home like the one day she was sick last year. I told her if she stayed home that she would have to stay in bed and take medicine. That was followed by an instant whaling and crying. I felt bad but I guess I got my point across.

I hope the first day goes well for the kids…and the parents too.

  3. How fun, since we don’t have kids we don’t really understand the back to school excitement (and my sister home schools, so nothing exciting at her house).

We do get a kick out of hearing the bus every morning and seeing the downtrodden children waiting at the end of the street.

  4. We don’t have any kids, so we can’t really experience that excitement. All I know is when the kids go back to school in Sept(after Labor day) we’ll be hearing school buses in the morning. Not cool.

  5. I thought you were supposed to hide that unbridled joy from your children… won’t that damage their self esteem?? lol
Hope it’s a great school year.
Hummm Isacc wants to be an inventor just like Dad… that must feel good!

  6. Absolutely loved the kids comments and facial expressions. I remember your first day of school and coming home on the bus. How little you looked getting off that big bus and how you ran to see all the kids that were here at the house because I had a day care home. They had missed you and I think you missed them too.

  7. The kids were not nearly as excited at the end of the day as they were at the beginning. Funny how that works…

Caprilis – damaging their self-esteem…isn’t that what parents are for?

Farmgirl_dk – about the pictures…maybe…from now on I will be better able to tell if they are being taken…or at least the “user” will have to work a little to hide it.
